The Meaning Behind Our Name
The name behind our brand of TIE Tutoring had three meanings.
1. The first meaning of TIE is that it is an acronym for Teaching Israelis English. Our model consists of having high school Americans tutor English to elementary school students in Israel.
2. The second meaning of TIE is that one of our goals it to bring together American and Israeli youth. Our program connects both Americans and Israelis, as if to tie a rope that both countries can grab and therefore help each other.
3. The third meaning of TIE is to lift our students onto a level playing field when it comes to opportunities. Knowledge of the English language can lead to jobs and other openings that are not be available for non-English speakers. TIE tutoring is pushing Israeli students onto a level playing field with those who already know English. So in this aspect, TIE Tutoring is making the score even (a TIE game) when it comes to potential opportunities by providing English lessons.
